Day 1: Arrival in Paro, Bhutan

  • Overnight stay in Paro.

Day 2: Paro Sightseeing

  • Morning: Hike up to Taktsang Monastery (Tiger’s Nest). This sacred site is perched on a cliff 900 meters above the valley. It’s an iconic symbol of Bhutan’s spiritual heritage. (Approx. 5–6 hours round trip).
  • Afternoon: Explore Rinpung Dzong, a historical fortress that also houses the Paro Monastic Body.
  • Visit the National Museum of Bhutan (Ta Dzong) to see artifacts, art, and the history of Bhutan.
  • Overnight stay in Paro.

Day 3: Paro to Thimphu

  • Morning: Drive to Thimphu (1.5-2 hours).
  • Visit Buddha Dordenma: The towering statue of Buddha offers spectacular views of the Thimphu Valley.
  • Visit Tashichho Dzong, the administrative center and the seat of the King of Bhutan.
  • Optional Visit: Explore Zilukha Nunnery or relax at a local café.

Day 4: Thimphu Sightseeing

Day 6: Punakha to Paro

  • Drive back to Paro.

Day 7: Departure from Paro

  • Morning: Depending on your flight schedule, you can visit Tashichho Dzong or take a final stroll through the town.
  • Departure: Transfer to Paro International Airport for your flight out of Bhutan.
  • End of tour.

Optional Days (Day 8–9)

  • Day 8: Visit Haa Valley for a peaceful retreat. The valley offers scenic views and traditional villages.
  • Day 9: Visit Phobjikha Valley and experience the winter home of the black-necked cranes (if visiting between October to February).

Best Time to Visit Bhutan

  • March to May: The ideal months for trekking and sightseeing with clear skies and vibrant landscapes.
  • September to November: Best weather for mountain views and festivals.
  • December to February: Cold, fewer crowds, and less trekking opportunities, but excellent for cultural experiences.
